Who are we?
The Mizrahi Civic Collective (MCC) is a civil movement that was established in February 2023 by a group of Mizrahi citizens and activists, who had submitted the the Mizrahi petition against the Basic Law: Israel – the Nation-State of the Jewish People (the Nation-State Law) in 2019, against the backdrop of the attempted judicial coup in Israel, initiated by the Israeli government in January 2023 under the slogan – No Judicial Coup or “Old World Order.”

The release of hostages is a moral imperative to which all democratic regimes are beholden to their citizens, all human beings to their humanity, and all Jews to their tradition. Hostage release grants a second chance to a state that has failed to protect its citizens. It is the duty of those who breached the contract to protect the lives of their citizens.
MCAM - Our Podcast
The MCC’s MCAM podcast in collaboration with Sapir Academic College’s Department of Communication, promotes Mizrahi culture as a political stance that advocates for social justice and peace at home and abroad, based on Jewish-Arab history in the Middle East and the sociology of inequality in Israel.
Local elections on January 31, 2024, offered an opportunity to work toward strengthening democracy in Israel by promoting a fruitful and equitable shared space for diverse local populations, in an effort to build community resilience. On the one hand, this promoted the local governance that would effectively address growing challenges posed by socioeconomic gaps and human insecurity. On the other hand, it actively worked toward equitable democratic engagement on behalf of residents from various neighborhoods and communities, in shaping the municipal sphere.
